So I recently ordered a Dash Express GPS receiver from Amazon, and I was excited enough to shell out for next-day shipping (okay, I did the free trial of Amazon Prime, so it was only four bucks…but still!). I placed the order in the middle of the day on Wednesday, so I was saddened and surprised when I checked my account status on Thursday, only to find the item hadn’t shipped. After a quick call to their incredibly cordial customer support, they confirmed the item was in stock and would ship that day, and they refunded the shipping charge. I was a little upset that I’d have to wait one more whole day before playing with my new toy, but I could manage.

Imagine my surprise, then, when my Dash arrived that very night! They shipped it through a local courier, so I still got it the day after I ordered it. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that I live about ten miles away from one of their distribution centers, but that’s still damn fine customer service. If everyone took care of their customers this way (I’m looking at you, Xbox support), I believe the world would be a much happier and less violent place. Anyway, thanks Amazon!
