Tekken 6 HD Arcade Machine spotted in Houston

While I was down in Houston this week on business (yes, actual business, not “business”), I ducked into the Tilt arcade in the Houston Galleria for a quick couple of games on my way out of town. I was pleasantly surprised to find a handful of clean, well-maintained, fun games. I was even more surprised to stumble upon a very new looking Tekken 6 machine.
Honestly, I’ve never really been into Tekken — I’m more of a Soul Calibur and Street Fighter guy. But the Internet tells me it’s running on an arcade board based on the PS3, and it’s not ever going to be officially released in the US, so this must have been an import. It’s a gorgeous machine. It’s a double-monitor setup with back-to-back HD monitors, so each player has their own seat and screen.
Strangely, they also had the Korean version of Police 911, although I didn’t snap a picture because I think I’m the only person who really likes that game. Anyway, if you’re a Tekken fanatic and you’re in the Houston area, you should drop by the Tilt in the Galleria and show them some love via token, since they probably dropped some serious cash to import it. Oh, but avoid their Silent Scope 2 machine – they have the difficulty cranked way up. Fuzzy camera phone pic gallery after the jump.

That is pretty sweet that it’s the dual monitor set-up like they have in japan. Too bad Tekken is a lousy fighting game series though….

Pretty sure it was an import – I don’t even think it ever came stateside for arcades. Seeing as how arcades are just about all but dead here. They’re even in rough shape in Japan — Capcom keeps flip-flopping on an arcade version of Super Street Fighter IV.

Thank you for taking a few minutes to mention this, I strongly about it and like learning more on this topic. If possible, as you obtain information, can you allow me updating your weblog with more detail? It is extremely valuable for me.
