What really sucks is, I like Telly, but they're best friends so they get paired together a lot. I think it's fun to pretend that Telly secretly hates Baby Bear and tries to get rid of him, but Baby Bear just won't take the hint.

Was Sam the Eagle ever on Sesame Street? He's part of the 'Muppet' cadre of characters from the Muppet Show. Except for Kermit, they don't typically cross-over much.

Sometimes I think I take the Muppets too seriously.

I remember that i stopped watching the show because the first time i saw "Sam the Eagle", he scared the shit out of me.. he just had this habit of looking into the camera and just not saying anything for a while.. after that, i just couldnt watch it anymore because i was always scared that he would pop out of nowhere and appear that night in my nightmares again..

I wouldn't worry too much about that. After all, Elmo speaks in the third person all the time. In fact, I remember stumbling across a page that explained the reasoning behind it (I think it was to make kids with that kind of speech problem feel better about themselves), but I couldn't re-find it. But yeah, we DVR Sesame Street at home and Baby Bear heavy episodes are frequently 'accidentally deleted'. There may be a reason for his speech, but he still sucks.

My kids watch Sesame Street, and for the first tim i happened to hear that damned baby bear. I couldnt believe they are subjecting kids to a retarded sounding bear. I now no longer allow my daughters to watch Sesame street for the fear they may attempt to imitate the way in which that retarded character speaks.
