RandomPlaylist: The woman in question trades refuge for money

RandomPlaylist is a showcase for music I’ve just discovered, obscure songs you might not have heard before, or just good songs that I think everyone should listen to.
“When I was born, the world was a far simpler place. It was all just…cops and robbers.”
Suddenly, there’s a loud bang. A heist. The narration continues:
“But it wasn’t for me.”
Then the 60’s, and the history of the drug movement. Then he steps into the frame, our Narrator. Daniel Craig, well before he was James Bond, but looking every bit as cool. He breaks his business down for us — he’s not a gangster, mind you, he’s a businessman, whose commodity just happens to be cocaine. He tells us the simple rules he lives by. A couple of unattractive Britons bump uglies while watching a sex show in Amsterdam. We meet the Narrator’s crew. The ugly Britons are up to something. The Narrator tells us he’s going to retire.
He opens a door. Nine minutes into the movie, the title is finally displayed. The transition from night to day as is slick as the rest of the opening sequence has been. He steps out of the door and into a waiting car. Strains of an echoing guitar can be made out. The car pulls away.
Then, a perfect cut over the snare drum, as the song begins and the opening credits roll.
“She Sells Sanctuary” by The Cult is by no means an obscure or unpopular song. I was familiar with the song before, but it’s now inextricably linked in my mind to the opening sequence of the fantastic film Layer Cake. After one of the coolest, tightest, slickest opening sequences to any movie ever, “Sanctuary” becomes the perfect coda to the introduction, setting the tone for the entire film to come.
It’s also a blast to play on Rock Band.
I wholeheartedly endorse the Amazon mp3 store for music downloads. All songs on Amazon are DRM free, meaning they’ll work on any mp3 player, including iPods.

I loved this movie, or it gave me a headache, or both. Screw it, its Daniel Craig, whats not to love?
