Whiskey, Dollhouse, and why everyone else on the internet is wrong

This post contains severe spoilers for last night’s Dollhouse episode, so if you haven’t watched it on your DVR or Hulu or whatever, then DO NOT KEEP READING.

So, last night’s episode of Dollhouse was fantastic, and had plenty of awesome twists, but the internets are abuzz with theories that Dr. Saunders is actually a doll with the handle of “Whiskey.” And they are all wrong about this (I think).

For one, Victor/Dominic wasn’t actually looking at Saunders when he said “Whiskey,” he was looking over her shoulder at Langdon.  Saunders was the first one to very quickly jump in and try to make sense out of what he said.  Then there was the unusual shot of DeWitt whispering in Boyd’s ear.  And, in my humble opinion, Whiskey is definitely a masculine sounding handle.

So, Whiskey isn’t Saunders, it’s Boyd Langdon, the faithful and dutiful handler and security guard.  I think.  This show still has the ability to surprise me, and it really needs a second season.

Also, Alan Tudyk rocks.

UPDATE: Never mind. Umm…my apologies to the tinfoil hats of the internets.

Didn’t Wash/Alpha say not to open a lit pod? Yet they fell into Victor’s still lit… Think anything will come of that?

I thought that was because of alarms that he had yet to disable. Good catch on that, though.

I hope Victor survives, he’s by far my favorite active. His Dominic impression was spot-on, and he’s definitely the breakout surprise of the show.

Just a wild theory about α: That he somehow became a hypervisor for imprints. That he has the ability to pull up any of the imprints he’s been given in the past so that he can convincingly act like (for example) a stoner, but all the while ensure that α’s objectives are met.

That’s actually supported by an interview Alan Tudyk gave to EW. He said he has something like 42 personalities he can call up when he needs to. Freaky stuff. Hope he survives to come back next season. HOPE THERE IS A NEXT SEASON.
