His name's on it, but the show is Lindelof and Cuse's baby. THE MORE YOU KNOW. Seriously, though, expect a BSG or Sopranos style ending...most questions answered, but a few details lingering and a large chunk open to interpretation. I have also read multiple interviews with them where they state they have no intention of explaining the numbers, so go ahead and give up on that.
