Firefox, Schmirefox

Apparently, Firefox 3.0 was released this week, which is like some kind of big deal or something.  I wouldn’t know.  Opera 9.5 making it out of beta, now that’s a big deal.  Opera runs circles around Firefox, is more customizable, and more attractive (especially with the new version).  It also displays pages better (although, I’m comparing it to the shipping version of Firefox on my Eee Pc, which admittedly is out-of-date since I know nothing about Linux, and also on a tiny tiny screen).  Anyway, before you fall over yourself trying to get the newest version of Netscape in a fur coat, give Opera a chance.  [insert fat lady singing pun here]

Thanks for nice words about our browser :)
If you haven’t already - give Opera Link a spin - it synchronizes your bookmarks and other data with your other computers or even your mobile phone! (On your phone, you could give Opera Mini a try ;)

Actually, I have a Windows Mobile phone, and while I hear great things about the smartphone version of Opera, Opera Mobile, I don’t know that I’m prepared to pay $30 for it. Especially with my crappy EDGE connection.

The upcoming beta version of Opera Mobile will be available for free, so you should at least give it a spin :)

I use Opera on the rare occasions I need a BitTorrent client.

Funnily enough, I almost never use the built-in extensions. It comes loaded with an RSS reader, email app, chat app, widget manager, and BT client, and all I do is web surf with it.
